Every rental includes the mandatory third-party liability insurance. On top of that, you can add the protection you prefer: you choose it when you book and pay when you pick up the car.

Mandatory on every rental. Covers damage or injury to third parties during your rental.
Vehicle license fee
Recovers the cost of registering and licensing the car with the authorities. It is not insurance.

Collision damage
Covers damage to the car in an accident. No theft, roadside assistance or other benefits.

The hold on your card
When you pick up the car, we place a refundable hold on a credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express). If the card isn't the driver's, its holder must be there.
It's US$300 with the Premium package; with a plan that has a deductible, it equals the deductible (US$800 or US$1,000); without any optional protection, it's US$1,200.
We release it the day you return the car, and your bank takes 3 to 5 days to make the funds available again.
Other charges you may see
Young driver
The minimum age is 25. Drivers aged 21 to 24 can rent by paying US$4.95 per day plus taxes, charged at pickup.
Return at the other airport
Returning the car at the other airport has a fixed charge of US$40 plus ITBIS, which you'll see before you confirm.
Airport fees and taxes
The 10% airport concession fee and the 18% ITBIS (the Dominican sales tax) appear as separate lines in your quote, so there are no surprises.
